liver cubes with mushrooms and alphabet pasta
In 2 Tbs melted margarine, sauté
- 4 Tbs fresh chives with
- 2 Tbs sliced blanched almonds and
- 3/4 cup sliced mushrooms.
Stir in 12-18 oz. liver cubes. Continue to sauté until the liver cubes begin to color.When the mushrooms and chives are tender, reduce heat to low. Stir in
- 2 cups heavy cream, adding
- 1-3 Tbs instant gravy mix to thicken, if desired.
Season the sauce with
- 1 Tbs curry powder
- 1 tsp dill seed
- 1 tsp basil, and
- one thread of saffron.
Cover and simmer about 30 mins.Serve hot over alphabet pasta. Garnish each serving with coleslaw.
